Four REES Executives Promoted to Senior Vice President
REES is excited to announce the promotion of Rob Genter, Farooq Karim, Stephen Lawson and Jay Tullis to the position of Senior Vice President.
“These promotions acknowledge the key roles each of these leaders play within REES. As the organization grows, it’s important we recognize the leaders who have enabled that growth,” said REES CEO Allan Parr.
The newly promoted Senior Vice Presidents previously held the title of Vice President.
Rob Genter, AIA, RID, LEED AP
Rob Genter is Senior Vice President of Operations for the Texas Region. He is celebrating his 30th year with the firm since joining REES in 1995 after finishing his Architectural Degree at Kansas State University. Rob has managed, produced, and performed construction administration services in each of our core markets including corporate, broadcast, education, senior living, and healthcare. Under his leadership the Texas region has grown significantly, garnering multiple design awards in the process. Outside the office Rob is an avid Kansas State sports fan and also enjoys cooking, golf, and running past the competition in half marathons.
Farooq Karim, AIA, LID, LEED AP
Farooq Karim is Senior Vice President of Design. He has a passion for working collaboratively with clients to develop creative solutions for their projects. As both an architect and interior designer, Farooq develops holistic and integrated design solutions. Farooq is a winner of the prestigious William Wayne Caudill Award, the highest honor given to architects in Oklahoma. Farooq is very involved in the community and participates in organizations such as Leadership Oklahoma, Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence and many others. Farooq has been with REES for more than 30 years. He also holds the distinction of being the most committed college football fan in the office, having not missed a home football game for the University of Oklahoma since 1975.
Stephen Lawson, AIA, LID, LEED AP
Stephen Lawson is Senior Vice President of Client Development. He also serves as REES’ Oklahoma healthcare market leader. In his 25+ years of experience, Stephen has been involved in the programming, planning and design of nationally recognized and award–winning healthcare institutions. From rural and community healthcare facilities to metropolitan medical centers, he is committed to improving the healing environment while maintaining efficient functional settings. Stephen is an avid learner, and that propensity continues outside the office. In his spare time, you can usually find him with a book or strumming his acoustic guitar.
Jay Tullis, AIA, LEED AP
Jay Tullis is Senior Vice President of Project Delivery and Quality. He started at REES more than 40 years ago in the print room and has risen to lead Operations for the Oklahoma region. He is currently transitioning out of his role leading the Oklahoma region. His new role will focus on mentoring the new Oklahoma region leaders and improving operational processes firmwide. Throughout his nearly half-century of experience, he has managed and directed broadcast, corporate office, healthcare, higher education, justice and performing arts projects. Jay’s organizational involvement has included the Myriad Gardens, the Oklahoma Centennial Commission and Leadership Oklahoma City.
Outside the office, Jay has a competitive streak that extends to the golf course – and, as we recently found out, the pickleball court!
