Mercy Breaks Ground on Tower to Provide Expanded Services to Women and Infants in OKC

Mercy recently broke ground on the new Love Family Women’s Center serving women and infants in Oklahoma City. The Center will be a four-story, 175,000-square foot facility connecting to the existing hospital on the Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City campus and will serve as a destination for women’s health services.

A FIRST FOR OKLAHOMA

The Love Family Women’s Center will be the first in the state of Oklahoma to provide certified midwife care to women experiencing unexpected prenatal or post-partum complications.

The new facility allows the hospital, which currently delivers an average of 4,000 babies a year, to serve more women and infant patients by increasing capacity to 73 labor and delivery rooms.

SPECIALIZED SERVICES

Additionally, the Center will provide an obstetric emergency room solely for pregnant women; a low-intervention birthing center; room for pelvic floor therapy and other outpatient services; quicker access to a new, first-floor c-section surgery suite; and direct access to the fifth-floor neonatal intensive care unit.

A first-floor meeting and community space will provide for educational services such as child birthing classes, new parent classes and support group meetings.

The REES-designed facility is slated to open in the Fall of 2023.

Congratulations to Mercy for this momentous first milestone.
