Originally designed more than 25 years ago, the REES Oklahoma City office recently received a thoughtful refresh, reimagining spaces for how our team works today. A series of intentional updates were done to the common spaces to reflect evolving work styles and strengthen collaboration among the team. Before designing the refresh, the REES team came together for listening sessions to talk openly about what was working, what could be better and where office improvements could have the greatest impact. That input guided decisions throughout the design process and ensured the renovation reflected how common spaces are used.
The office renovation focused on creating flexible, collaborative spaces. A small team room was remodeled, and another was newly created to support group work. An open meeting area provides space for quick huddles and conversations. The breakroom, nearly twice its original size, serves as the heart of the office for lunch-and-learns, staff meetings and celebrations. The interiors library was reimagined with large tables for teams to spread out materials, review finishes and host client meetings. Quality control areas were reworked to improve workflow and project efficiency. REES designers also added a new wellness room to support employee well-being.
The lobby and reception areas were updated with new veneer finishes and soapstone surfaces. Sixty percent of the lighting was upgraded into efficient LED fixtures. Together, these changes create a workplace that works better for our team, our clients and the way we collaborate every day.
