Collaborative Workspace to Transform a Fortune 100 Company’s Strategy
When more than 15 inches of rain fell in less than 24 hours, many areas of Houston experienced the worst flooding in their history. One of REES’ clients was impacted by flooding and we reached out to help. Members of our team were on-site quickly after the flooding to help evaluate options. The result was a 70,000 square-foot renovation project delivered in 4 phases to accelerate construction. REES issued our first designs to the contractor just three weeks after the first project meeting.
In addition to repairing flood damage, REES helped the company use this opportunity to accelerate their move to a new workplace strategy. The project included a redesign of dense labs and administrative offices into collaborative neighborhoods with shared workstations. In addition to conference rooms and smaller team rooms, our design included a break area and café that employees use throughout the day for informal meetings. Hubs were created throughout the floor with grouped and bench seating as alternative workspaces.
