Mercy Hospital
Cancer Resource Center
The Cancer Resource Center is a 7,000–square–foot renovation of an existing outpatient rehabilitation services department. REES was asked to create a non–institutional setting for people recently diagnosed and undergoing cancer treatments. The open and free–flowing floor plan helps reinforce the concept of easy access to Mercy staff and promotes cross educational opportunities for families. The renovation included a library learning center, consultation rooms, a community and training center, and administration and staff work areas and offices.
The REES staff worked very well with one another, as well as with myself. When I had a question, REES’ response was very timely. The patients as well as the coworkers love the space. I often hear comments about how beautiful the building is, specifically the colors. The relaxing atmosphere and natural light coming through the large windows has created a feeling of calmness and peace. The workflow is great for us. We are all very thankful for our new Cancer Center.
