Four-story Center is a destination for Women’s Health in Oklahoma
Location
Oklahoma City
Size
175,000 square feet
Mercy Love Family Women’s Center is a four-story, 175,000-square-foot facility connecting to the existing hospital on the Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City campus. It will serve as a destination for women’s health services in Oklahoma City.
The Love Family Women’s Center is the first in the state of Oklahoma to provide certified midwife care to women experiencing unexpected prenatal or post-partum complications.
The new facility allows the hospital, which currently delivers an average of 4,000 babies a year, to serve more women and infant patients by increasing capacity to 73 labor and delivery rooms. Additionally, the Center will provide an obstetric emergency room solely for pregnant women that is strategically designed to allow for quick, safe access from the hospital via a skybridge in case of medical emergencies during delivery.
Other specialized spaces include a low-intervention birthing center; room for pelvic floor therapy and other outpatient services; quicker access to a new, first-floor c-section surgery suite; and direct access to the fifth-floor neonatal intensive care unit.
A first-floor meeting and community space provide educational services such as child birthing classes, new parent classes, and support group meetings.
