Addressing Community Needs

Outgrowing their previous space, The Virtue Center opened the doors to its new facility located in Norman, Oklahoma. A welcoming, therapeutic environment, the 14,000-square-foot nonprofit center provides comprehensive treatment services for those struggling with addiction, trauma and related mental health issues.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, addiction is Oklahoma’s number one public health crisis. One in four Oklahoma families are impacted by addiction and related mental health issues. The new facility is designed to promote healing for teens, adults and families. It is a welcoming and safe place for people to heal and thrive.

Designed to support group’s mission

Intended to promote healing through compassion and dignity, REES designed the new facility to embody The Virtue Center’s mission of hope, connection and community. An open and approachable atmosphere greets you walking through the doors, providing clients and their loved ones an inviting, comfortable setting to enter.  Interior space is maximized, giving counselors the ability to guide a wide range of needs. Featuring high ceilings and abundant natural light, small group therapy rooms and private counseling offices are designed to help clients restore personal relationships affected by trauma and addiction. The conference rooms give way for meetings and educational training to occur, equipping loved ones and community partners to provide help going forward. A dedicated break room is designed for the staff, so they can unwind and recharge. Outside the center, several therapeutic patios provide places for reflection.

The new facility allows The Virtue Center to continue its onsite collaborative work with local school districts, juvenile programs and county judicial systems. During the Center’s 50-year history, it has counseled and served more than 27,000 people in Norman, Cleveland County and the surrounding area.
