NOW THAT THE CLUBHOUSE IS COMPLETE, THIS FACILITY IS SIMPLY SPECTACULAR. HAVING BEEN A LONGTIME ARLINGTON RESIDENT, I AM TRULY BLOWN AWAY THAT WE HAVE SUCH A SPECIAL FACILITY RIGHT IN OUR OWN BACKYARD.

A DYNAMIC NEW FACILITY FOR SPORTS FANS

The City of Arlington partnered with the Texas Rangers organization to transform an old municipal golf course into a dynamic new golf club. The new, 37,000-square-foot, Hill Country-style clubhouse enhances the beautiful new golf course.

Located just minutes from Globe Life Field, the Texas Rangers Golf Club serves as an integral anchor to the nearby entertainment district which includes the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, the Texas Rangers ballpark, Six Flags and numerous other leisure and recreational developments. The Ditto Clubhouse is named in honor of Chester W. Ditto, namesake of the city’s original golf course which opened on the site in 1982.

Community-Focused Spaces

Packed with amenities, the Clubhouse is the perfect location for kicking back after a round of golf, buying new golf equipment, enjoying a meal or hosting a private event.

Versatile Venue Space

The City of Arlington wanted the Clubhouse to include a highly-versatile venue to accommodate corporate outings, public events, tournaments and weddings. Packed with amenities, the Clubhouse is the perfect location for such events. Our designers kept flexibility in mind by adding expandable divider walls allowing the banquet hall to be used for intimate gatherings or 200-person events.

Sports Bar and Al Fresco Dining

Aptly named “Home Plate”, the 150-seat sports bar and restaurant features wall-to-wall televisions, a horseshoe-shaped bar top and a large sectional overhead door that can open the restaurant to a covered patio. The spacious patio area, overlooking the course and embellished with custom-made Spanish Cedar, offers ample outdoor seating.

Additional Amenities

The complex also includes a commercial kitchen, cart storage basement, an on-course restroom, meeting rooms and a maintenance complex to support course operations.

Texas Hill Country Inspired

Decorated with dramatic wood arches, custom-made windows and earthy stone elements, the Ditto Clubhouse stays true to Texas Hill Country style. Custom-made, weather-resistant Spanish Cedar windows adorn the rear of the clubhouse to create an upscale atmosphere. The large-scale wood beams required structural support with steel beams to withstand wind loading.

A Birdie’s Eye View

The Clubhouse’s location takes advantage of the 55 feet of elevation change the site has to offer. Set high on a hill, the expansive views facing northeast of the Clubhouse overlook holes No. 9 and No. 18. The front lawn is strategically positioned to provide outdoor comfort for cool summer breezes.

Cart paths directly connect the clubhouse to the course. Our team worked to address drainage issues on steep paths to ensure access in any weather condition.

A Major League Upgrade

During the Clubhouse design, the Rangers’ golf course was in the midst of a total renovation to improve turf grasses and water features. Nationally-recognized golf course architect John Colligan was charged with revitalizing the old course.

The Clubhouse’s orientation, location and relationship with the surrounding course was closely coordinated with the course’s redesign. Our team worked closely with Colligan to support updates made to land elevations which assisted with drainage issues and topsoil erosion. After these field changes were made, our team built retaining walls around the clubhouse.

The rerouted course, which stretches 7,000 yards in length, improved drainage, leading to fewer cancelled rounds. Additionally, rainwater is captured from the Clubhouse roof and piped to a storm drain system, emptying into a nearby irrigation lake used to water the golf course.
