REES Houston Gives Back at Montgomery County Food Bank
Serving the community is at the heart of what we do at REES. Our team in Houston recently volunteered at Montgomery County Food Bank, supporting their mission to fight hunger and feed hope.
Montgomery County Food Bank plays a vital role in the region, distributing nearly 9 million meals annually to children, families and seniors facing food insecurity across Montgomery County, Texas. Partnering with more than 90 local agencies, the Food Bank ensures that nutritious food reaches those who need it most.
During their time at the facility, REES volunteers packaged fresh produce that would later be distributed through the Food Bank’s mobile markets. The team assembled boxes, filled them with fruits and vegetables and organized them for the weekend distribution. The group packed 216 boxes, equivalent to an estimated 3,138 meals for local families.
“Our team had a great time working together for an important cause,” said REES CEO Allan Parr. “I was surprised to see the scale of the operation and the need in our community. Montgomery County Food Bank is a quality organization meeting a growing need. We went home committed to providing further support to this challenge in our community.”
This volunteer event is one example of how REES is supporting the communities we serve as a part of celebrating our 50th Anniversary.
