REES’ Maison Florale Wins “People’s Choice Award”
Blending Interior Design with the Culinary Arts
REES’ art nouveau-inspired tablescape “Maison Florale” was awarded “People’s Choice” at the 6th Annual Design Appétit in Oklahoma City. The three-day philanthropic event pairs the artistry of design with the creativity of the culinary arts by teaming design groups with local chefs to produce a multi-sensory experience.
Under a custom-designed private canopy of REES’ “Maison Florale,” dinner guests were transported to turn-of-the-twentieth-century Paris and treated to a culinary experience with MasterChef finalist Gabriel Lewis.
Maison Florale – A Parisian Garden
Imagined as a 1910’s French garden terrace replete with verdant botanicals and organic beauty, REES designers constructed a greenhouse framing the table setting. To complete the lush ambiance and moody lounge-like atmosphere, the vignette blended lustrous gold details with intricate textile design, rich colors and warm wood tones.
Under the canopy, dinner guests were treated to a carefully crafted culinary experience by MasterChef finalist Gabriel Lewis. The meal included creamy caramelized leek bisque, cola braised short ribs and creamy panna cotta for dessert.
Designing for a mission
Thank you to our partners Shaw Contract and Calvert’s Plant Interiors Plant Interiors for helping us design our table for this three-day event that benefitted Focus on Home – an organization whose mission is providing furniture to families transitioning out of unstable living situations or homelessness.
