Villages at Windcrest Named Best Memory Care Community
U.S. News and World Reports recently named the Villages at Windcrest as a Best Memory Care Community for 2022-2023. The senior living community ratings are awarded based off surveys of residents and their families.
In an interview with the Fredericksburg Standard, General Manager Kraig Turpin said, ““We are humbled that this recognition by U.S. News & World Report is based on direct feedback from current residents and family members. We remain committed to inspiring a way of aging that celebrates ongoing purposeful living, proactive wellness and a strong sense of community for those we proudly serve today and into the future.”
The REES designed the community opened in 2019 to serve residents in Fredericksburg, Texas. The 73,000-square-foot, $21 million assisted living and memory care community adapts the German influenced architecture of the area to fit the modern Texas Hill Country feel.
The Villages of Windcrest was built in a market with a great need for assisted living care. This gave our team a special responsibility to create a community that was comforting and familiar, while serving the needs of residents. The community includes a 24-unit Memory Care wing as well as a 60-unit assisted living building.
Survey respondents appreciated the wide variety of life enrichment activities, the safety of the community and how the community feels like home. When designing the community we planned for these elements by creating inviting living areas that open to easily accessed, landscaped gardens.
