Contemporary Dining Design for NBA Superstar
REES was commissioned to design the 10,100 s.f. restaurant for NBA and Oklahoma City Thunder star, Kevin Durant. REES’ creative design approach began with studying the architecture and brick patterns of the neighboring historic district of Bricktown. A balanced approach was taken, appreciating the importance of Bricktown’s heritage, while acknowledging its continued emergence as an entertainment district. Three sides of the restaurant hearken back to turn-of-the-century brick warehouses, while the east pedestrian access side utilizes a contemporary glass curtain wall with cedar and metal accents. REES’ creative approach to the building design won unanimous praise and approval from OKC’s Urban Renewal Board.
We are very pleased with the results of the final KD’s Southern Cuisine Restaurant designed by REES. We have received many compliments since our opening. The interior and exterior represent some of the finest work in the restaurant industry in Oklahoma.
