Challenges Addressed

Increase Community Appeal; Maintain Architectural Integrity; Balance Captivating Designs with Lifestyle

Needing to address decreased occupancy and growing competition in West Palm Beach’s senior living market, Bridge Investment Group asked REES to renovate 15,000 square feet of The Residences at The Carlisle Palm Beach in Lantana, Florida. The comprehensive renovation project refreshed public common areas and introduced new amenity spaces. Enhancing the appeal of this luxury, resort-style facility, the renovations strategically positioned The Residences at The Carlisle Palm Beach as the premier senior living destination in West Palm Beach.

Salon and Spa Transforms Relaxation and Resident Experience

In addressing the top priorities for the owner, one aspect of the renovation focused on revitalizing the salon and spa. This was done to provide essential services to the residents and serve as a communal space for them to gather. Previously, the space lacked the welcoming ambiance expected for this type of amenity in a resort-style community, and the layout was inefficient for staff and residents. The design team repurposed the arts and craft room to expand the area. This optimized overall functionality and created an environment for residents to relax. Contemporary furnishings and ambient lighting enhance the atmosphere, ensuring residents’ comfort and rejuvenation. Dedicated stations for massage therapy, manicures and pedicures were added, which now allows for a comprehensive range of services.

Elevated Dining Options Cater to Resident Preferences

Updates to the dining areas enhanced the experience by offering greater choice and flexibility for the residents. Previously, residents had the option of dining in a typical restaurant-style setting or a self-serve buffet. Over time, the owners recognized residents sought the service of the staff, no matter what venue they dined in. The transformation resulted in the creation of two distinct locations, each catering to different preferences. The restaurant-style dining room underwent a vibrant makeover, featuring updated finishes, lighting and décor. Meanwhile, the private dining room was relocated to provide residents with direct access to the exterior courtyard and main dining room. An elegant bar and bistro were added providing convenience. Grab and go meals offer quicker service when residents don’t want to visit the full-service dining room. In the evenings, a happy hour is hosted at the bar for residents to socialize.

Focus on Resident Wellness with New Fitness Center

Formerly a multipurpose room, the fitness room was reimagined into a modern wellness center. The expanded area offers residents updated cardiovascular and strength equipment. Daily fitness classes are conducted by a third-party provider. Open to the surrounding community, the center was relocated to a more accessible location in the building. Residents of Palm Beach can participate in the classes provided through a direct access point, rather than coming through the community. The addition of a therapy room gives residents comprehensive services and support towards their health and wellbeing.

Significant enhancements to the theater, card and game room, library and lobby also took place, giving residents ample opportunities to connect with others. By prioritizing resident lifestyle and wellness, the renovated common areas not only cater to current residents’ needs but also attract prospective residents seeking a vibrant, luxurious environment in the Palm Beach area.
