New regulations lead to new pharmacy design

Mercy asked REES to renovate an existing pharmacy in its Ardmore hospital to meet new USP 800 clean room requirements. Through the design process, it was determined the pharmacy had outgrown its current space making it challenging to address code compliance through a renovation.

REES designed a new 4,500-square-foot pharmacy on a lower-level to include hazardous and non-hazardous drug compounding rooms, receiving and storage areas and pharmacist and pharmacy tech work areas. The space contains the newest pharmaceutical delivery system technology which improves receipt of patient medications.
