The Hacienda at Georgetown is a resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community, offering an enriching, inclusive environment for seniors. The 270,000-square-foot community boasts 125 Independent Living apartments, 81 Assisted Living rooms and 24 Memory Care beds.
It was crucial to create a campus where seniors can reinvigorate the later stages of their life while staying connected with the surrounding community. The Hacienda’s design responds to feelings of isolation often found in elder care, breaking down both physical and perceived barriers.
Situated on 13 lush acres, The Hacienda supports senior needs and ergonomics but appears effortless in doing so – a reflection of the casual elegance created by intentional design choices. The color palette and textures reflect the rich heritage of the Texas Hill Country. Design elements are inspired by local swimming holes, natural stones and the famous Georgetown poppies. The aesthetic of durable exterior building materials is carried through common areas with the use of metals, stone, and stained wood. Floor-to-ceiling windows unite the indoors with vibrant community courtyards. A signature detail of wood and blackened steel ‘portals’ help define areas, creating a sense of harmony between different special functions within the community’s open plan. Authenticity was ensured by having local craftsmen and artisans create many details locally, from the front reception desk to millwork in living areas.
The 100-seat, glass-pavilion restaurant, Alma, has become a destination dining experience. Alma is the senior living industry’s first ever public-facing restaurant, led in partnership with James Beard award-winning, Texas celebrity chef Stephan Pyles. Offering a Texas-Hill Country-inspired menu, it has been featured in publications such as Texas Monthly and the Wall Street Journal. An innovative connection to exterior landscape, unexpected lighting and a companion indoor/outdoor bar area creates a lively atmosphere where residents can interact with their Georgetown neighbors.
Alma is just the peak of The Hacienda’s dining experiences. The community offers many options for residents to pick from, ranging from refined dining venues to casual cafes bars.
Residents can stay engaged at the Hacienda’s wellness center, pool, salon, courtyard garden, tennis and bocce ball courts. An outdoor performance stage books hill country musical groups for entertainment, one of the more popular leisure activities in Central Texas. The community also offers spaces for educational seminars, creative activities, and social gatherings, encouraging personal growth and meaningful connections.
